SmartWaste – Reducing pollution and increasing efficiency with smart cities
Installing an ultrasound sensor in each of the identified bins spread out across the city is one of the innovative processes that Smart Waste Management brings to the market as part of its platform for waste management. This helps both private businesses and the public administration of local communities improve urban waste collection and management through the application of various technological tools and cutting-edge technology. The sensor gathers data and transmits it to the management platform using a 3G modem. This allows the platform to determine which of the waste bins need to have their contents emptied. This results in a reduction of operational costs of at least 25 percent and a positive impact on the environment.
The primary goal of the platform is to provide a data-driven platform that gets its information from reports sent in by remote sensors and uses that information to intelligently calculate bin collection routes.
